• Based on administrative limits, migration is classified as internal and external migration.
• Internal migration is the movement of people within a country. There are further classification to internal migration. The following are two of the many types of internal migration.
  • Rural to Rural migration- When people migrate from one rural area to another in search of fertile land for cultivation or migration of women after marriage etc.
  • Urban to Rural migration - People move away from urban areas to rural regions because of problems of rapid urbanisation like pollution, traffic, bad housing etc. This mainly is seen after the retirement of people.
