Solution

Dear Student ,

Socialism is a political and social theory or system which calls for the public ownership of the properties and natural resources rather than the private ownership. People who follow this system are called as socialists. Socialists are the people who believe that everything in the society is made by the cooperative efforts of the people and citizens.
In India , Socialism was founded early in the 20th century as a part of Indian Independence movement against the British Colonialism.
In India , the Congress Socialist party was founded within the Indian National Congress in 1934 . This party was influenced by the Marxism-Leninism and included advocates of armed struggle or sabotage as well as those those who insisted upon Non violent resistance or Ahimsa .The Congress Socialist Party advocated socialism in which the trade unions, co-operatives, independent farmers, and local authorities would hold a substantial share of the economic power. JP Narayan, a popular name in the Socialist party convened a meeting in Patna on 17 May 1934, which founded the Bihar Congress Socialist Party. He was a Gandhian Socialist. Later JP Narayan became general secretary of the party and Acharya Narendra Deva became president. Members of the CSP were particularly active during the Quit India movement of August 1942. After independence, the CSP broke away from Congress Party , under the influence of JP Narayan and formed the Socialist Party Of India .
