Solution:
Penamakuru has mostly fertile soils and has mainly three different types namely alluvial soil, black soil, and sandy soil.
Alluvial soil: It is also called 'Ondru Bhumi’. This soil deposited by the river. It has a heavy-water holding capacity and is rich in nutrients.
Black soil: It is also known as the 'Nalla Regadi Bhumi' in Telugu.
It gets sticky with rain. Just like alluvial soil, this soil also has a high water-holding capacity. It retains moisture for a long time. This clay-like black soil can be found up to a depth of 15 feet. When it gets dry, it tends to crack up, which causes self-ploughing.
Sandy soil: It is found in the southern and western parts of the village surrounding the river. It’s also known as 'Isuka Bhumi’. It has a low water-holding capacity.
