Structure of the modern periodic table:
  • The modern periodic table contains horizontal periods 1 to 7.
  • Similarly, it has vertical groups 1 to 18.
  • Atomic numbers are indicated on the upper part of the element. Two rows are separately placed at the bottom of the periodic table.
  • These are called lanthanide series and actinoid series.
  • There are 118 boxes in the periodic table.
  • The whole periodic table is divided into four blocks.
  • The left side is the s-block, the right side is a p-block, in the middle there is a d-block and the lanthanide series and actinoid series form the f-block.
  • The first period contains 2 elements.
  • The s-block contains alkali and alkaline earth metals.
  • The p-block contains metals, non-metals, and metalloids.
  • The d-block contains transition metals.
