Write a short note on Terai? (2 marks)

Terai is one of the four relief features of the Northern Plains. It is just down south of the Bhabar region​.

Special Features:

• All the streams that disappeared in Bhabar region reappear again in Terai region.
• Because of the presence of the steams this place is wet, swampy and marshy. Hence this region is heavily forested with rich wildlife.
• In recent times, the land has been cleared to settle the migrants who came from Pakistan after Partition.
