Solution: The Urdu language grew during the Medieval period in India.
This grew into one of the rich literary traditions in Indian writings and several books of importance were written in it.
Poets such as Mir Dard, Wali, Mir Taqi Mir, Nazir Akbarabadi Galib, Iqbal and others emerged as literary figures during this period.
Urdu prose developed during the early 18th CE, when translation works from Sanskrit to Urdu began.
At the same time original urdu prose were also being composed such as Muhammad Hussain Azad’s Darbar-e-Akbari. It is considered the best works of Urdu language.
Mughal emperors such as Aurangzeb and Bahadur Shah Zafar also contributed to the rise of Urdu literature through royal patronage as they too were proficient Urdu poets themselves.
