1. It is the innermost portion of the Earth’s interior.
2. It has two types: The outer core and the Inner core.
3. The outer core is a liquid layer whereas the inner core is solid.
4. The core has a diameter of 3500km and makes up 15% of the earth’s volume.
5. It is made up mostly of Nickel i.e Ni and Iron i.e Fe and is also called the NiFe layer.
