Agent Orange was one of the herbicides and a defoliant that was extensively used as a part of Operation Ranch Hand in the Vietnam War by the USA.
The use of Agent Orange was intended to be used to destroy the forest covers to prevent the guerillas from accessing food and shelter. This was sprayed extensively on farms and forests from helicopters and low flying aircraft in Vietnam. Unfortunately, apart from the guerillas, the locals and the peasants in the places where Agent Orange was sprayed had to bear the brunt of massive crop damages.
