The crust: It is the outer part of the earth. Its depth is around 5 to 30 kms. The crust mostly consists of various kinds of rocks.
The Mantle: It is the second layer and extends upto 2,900 kms in thickness. The upper part of the mantle is a pliable layer over which the crust floats
The Core: It is the innermost layer. The core is 2,900 to 6376 kms in thickness. It is composed of dense and heavy substances like iron and nickel.
