Island is a piece of land that is surrounded by water from all sides.
India has two Island groups Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar.

Lakshadweep Islands Andaman & Nicobar Island

Islands Group lying in the Arabian Sea close to the Malabar coast. Elongated chain of Island lying in the Bay of Bengal.

It is composed of small coral Islands. It has two broad categories of Islands.

Andaman in the north.

Nicobar in the south.

There are a total of 34 islands in the Lakshadweep Island group. Andaman has 204 islands while Nicobar has 19 Islands.

Amindivi islands are situated in the north while Minicoy islands are situated in the south. The Saddle peak (737 meters) is the highest peak on Andaman.
