Multi-dimensional Poverty Index (MPI) was launched by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the oxford poverty Human Development Initiative in 2010. It constitutes factors like health, education, living standards, Income, disempowerment, quality of work, non-violence etc.India has reduced poverty drastically from 55% to 28% in 10 years from 2005 -06 to 2015 – 16.
