The two possible errors which can happen while measureing lengths are:

1) Inclination error - the scale should be kept close to the object without any inclination to achieve the correct measurement of length.

2) Parallax error - Position of eyes is very important. Measurements should be taken by placing our eyes in a straight line, without any deviation from the line of sight.
