Palampur is an imaginary village that is well connected with nearby towns and villages. People can reach Palampurthrough bullock carts, tongas, bogeys, motor vehicles, motorcycles and trucks. Around 450 families reside in Palampur. They belong to different castes. 80% of the land are owned by the upper caste families. Their houses are big and made with bricks and cement. One-third of the people residing in Palampur are Scheduled Caste. They live in one corner of the village. Their houses are small and are made with mud and straw.
There is a primary health centre of government and a private dispensary where sick people are treated. Palampur has well developed system of roads, transport, electricity, schools and health centre. Non-farm activities include small manufacturing, transport, shop-keeping etc.
