Solution

Interrelationship between plants and decomposers:

  1. When plants die, their remains are consumed for the purpose of nutrition by the decomposers.
  2. These decomposers, in the same process, break down the complex organic substances in these dead plants into simpler ones.
  3. This organic matter is called humus and it makes the soil fertile.
  4. These nutrients in the fertile soil are then taken up by the plants for their growth.
