Tourist Leaflet

"La tour Eiffel-Eiffel Tower"
The Eiffel tower situated in Paris is one of the world's most admired monuments. It was built by Gustave Eiffel in 1889, as an entrance to the 1889 World Fair.
(i) How to reach there?
One can go there in a taxi, bus or train. The nearest metro stop is 'Bir-Hakeim'.
(ii) Where to stay?
One can stay in a hotel at Champs-E'lyse'es, a 5 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower.
(iii) Historical Importance of the Place.
The height of the tower gave the Parisians technological importance. During the World War II, it was used for wireless military communication.
(iv) Shopping Attractions.
On the first floor of the Eiffel tower, there are shops where you can buy souvenirs and postal stamps of the tower.
(v) Did you know?
Gustave Eiffel also built the Statue of Liberty. The statue was a gift from France to America.
Every seven years, painters apply 60 tons of paint to the tower to keep it young.
