Kalpana and her love for the earth

Kalpana Chawla was very proud of her birth-place and did everything she could to make it famous. She came into contact with all her old friends and acquaintances from India and expressed her interest to keep in touch. Her nature won the hearts of everyone.

Although Kalpana wanted to go to Mars, she was concerned about the earth's well-being. She encouraged that people pay attention to nature and take care of it. During her space trips she took many photographs of the earth for studies later on the ground. She wished to visit India but met with a tragic end. A few months later, Harrison visited India and her people, and scattered her ashes over the Himalayas.
