Solution
Tea Leaves Production In India:
Tea is an important beverage crop of India.
It is grown mainly in Assam, Darjeeling, Nilgiri Hills of South India, some places of Himachal Pradesh and Tarai along the foothills of the Himalayas.
It requires hot and humid climate.
Ideal temperature for the growth of tea plants is 20 to 30 degrees Celsius.
Annual rainfall required for its growth is around 150-300 cm.
The virgin forest soil which is rich in humus is supposed to be the best for the cultivation of tea plants.
Its harvesting requires cheap and skilled labour for plucking the leaves of tea plants.
Tea plants are usually planted on the hill slopes where shade loving plants are also planted prior to sowing the tea plants.
