c) Give an account of the military campaigns and rebellions faced by Aurangzeb
1) Akbar divided the empire into provinces called subas, governed by a subadar who carried out both political and military functions.
2) Each province also had a diwan. For the maintenance of peace and order the subadar was supported by the military paymaster (bakhshi), the minister in charge of religious and charitable patronage (sadr), military commanders (faujdars) and the town police commander (kotwal).
