Dear student,
Political parties are that organizations that take part in political activities and contest elections democratically to form the government and participate in legislature. A party securing 6 percent of the total votes in Assembly elections or Lok Sabha elections and 4 seats in Lok Sabha, is known as national political parties. National political parties are found throughout the country and they are not limited to certain local regions. Hence, national parties focus on the development of the entire nation as well as the issues faced by every citizen. Through national parties, uniform development is maintained. Some of the important national political parties are the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), etc. CPI was founded in 1925 which believe in Marxism-Leninism, democracy, and secularism. BJP formed in 1980 intending to build a strong India by preserving its ancient culture and values. AITC formed in 1998 under the leadership of Mamta Banerjee. Besides, it has other national parties too like the Nationalist Congress Party, Bahujan Samaj party, etc.
