After the civil war between Tamils and Sinhala communities, thousands of people of both communities died in Sri Lanka. Many families were forced to leave the country as refugees and many lost their livelihood. The excellent record of development of Sri Lanka in terms of economic development, education and health was destroyed. This war caused a setback to the social , cultural, and economic life of the country.
