Write about the method of production of paper . How paper is recycled?

Paper is made from wood of trees. Wood chips are boiled in a chemical solution of sodium hydroxide and sodium sulphide. A pulp is formed which is filtered and beaten. Various fillers and chemicals are added to provide specific qualities to paper. The beaten pulp is fed into big machines where it is squeezed to remove water. It is pressed and passed on to steam-heated cylinders to remove the remaining water. The dried paper is wound on to large reels.
Different types of paper such opaque, transparent, soft, smooth, rough, coloured etc. can be made by adding suitable fillers and chemicals during the paper making process.

Recycling of paper:

• Papers are collected and stored into a recycling container.
• The container filled with recycled paper is brought to the recycling plant.
• The separated paper is then washed with soap water to remove, ink, paint, glue etc.
• The washed paper is then mixed with water to make slurry.
• Different chemicals are added to the slurry to make different type of product like cardboard, tissue paper, office paper etc.
• This slurry is spread to make thin sheets of paper.
• It is left to dry and rolled up for transport.
