CO2 once released into the blood mixes with the water and acidifies the blood starts that isn’t optimal for our survival. Hence it needs to be released. This is transported to the lungs by the blood in two ways. One is as bicarbonates dissolved in plasma and the other is in combination with the haemoglobin as carbamino-haemoglobin.
