Given that $3$ times a number $x$ added to $5$ times another number $y$ is equal to $48 .$
$3$ times a number $x$ $= 3 \times X$ ……..equation (i)
$5$ times another number $y$ $= 5 \times y$ ……..equation (ii)
Now, we have to add equation (i) and (ii) which is equal to $48 .$
$3 \times X + 5 \times y = 48$
$3 x + 5 y = 48$
Hence, the required equation is $3 x + 5 y = 48$ .
