• Carbon dioxide is easily soluble in water under pressure i.e. why it is used in the manufacturing of drinks
• Carbon dioxide is used in the manufacturing of chemicals such as Baking soda (Sodium Hydrogen carbonate)${\mathrm{NaHCO}}_3$ and Washing soda (Sodium carbonate)${\mathrm{Na}}_2{\mathrm{CO}}_3$.
• Carbon dioxide is used in fire extinguishers to put out a fire as this gas is neither combustible nor a supporter of combustion.
• Carbon dioxide in the form of dry ice is used as a refrigerant for the preservation of food.
