Solution
Transpiration:
The process of removing water from plants through openings, like stomata and lenticels, is known as transpiration.
Function:
Transpiration helps in the movement of water molecules from the roots to the upper part of the plants. The removal of water molecules generates a transpiration pull in the xylem tissue allowing the water to move upward.
The removal of water from plants also helps to cool the leaves, thus protecting them from wilting during sunlight.
