Write balanced chemical equation for the following

When lead nitrate is heated

Step 1:

Heating lead nitrate is a type of decomposition reaction. Once it decomposes it forms lead oxide, oxygen and nitrogen dioxide

Step 2:

The reaction can be given as,

Pb(NO3)2(aq)PbO(s)+NO2(g)+O2(g)LeadLeadNitrogenOxygenNitrateOxidedioxide

Now we can balance the equation by equating the number of atoms on both sides of the equation. If two is added in front of PbO then we have to add same two in front of the substrate and four in front of nitrogen dioxide, so both sides we will get ,two Pb atoms, four N atoms and twelve O atoms on both sides of the equation.

Hence the balanced equation is,

2Pb(NO3)2(aq)2PbO(s)+NO2(g)+O2(g)LeadLeadNitrogenOxygenNitrateOxidedioxide
