Solution

When an aqueous solution of copper sulphate and potassium iodide reacts then there is a formation of a precipitate of cuprous iodide along with potassium sulphate and iodine gas. The balanced reaction can be written as,

2CuSO4(s)+4KI(s)ā†’Cu2I2(s)+2K2SO4(aq)+I2(g).
