(a) When sodium hydrogencarbonate is added to nitric acid, it forms salt, water and carbon dioxide.
NaHCO3+HNO3NaNO3+H2O+CO2

(b) When cupric oxide reacts with nitric acid, copper nitrate is formed.
CuO+2HNO3Cu(NO3)2+H2O

(c) Zinc reacts with dilute nitric acid to form nitrous oxide.
4Zn+10HNO3(dil.)4Zn(NO3)2+N2O+5H2O

(d) When conc. nitric acid is heated, it rapidly decomposes to form reddish brown nitrogen dioxide gas, water and oxygen.
