The chemical equation for the word equation written above is:
KClO3 KCl + O2
ā€‹To balance the equation we balance the Oxygen first, by multiplying the oxygen on right hand side with 3 and KClO3 on the left side with 2. Then KCl is multiplied by 2 to obtain the balanced chemical equation as follows:
2 KClO3 2 KCl + 3 O2
