Solution

The main purpose of sinovial joint is to allow bones to rotate freely about each other. The articular surfaces of the joint are covered with synovial membrane. The capsule contains synovial fluid. These help in reducing the friction between the articular surfaces of the joint and permits free movement in many planes. There are six types of synovial joints namely, Pivot, saddle, hinge, plane, condyloid, ball and socket joints.
