Solution
Reaction of aniline with benzoyl chloride
Reaction of aniline with benzoyl chloride is a nucleophilic addition reaction. Here nitrogen of aniline act as nucleophile due to lone pair of N atom and carbonyl carbon act as electrophile due to partial positive charge on it.
In this reaction, nucleophilic nitrogen attacks on the electrophilic carbon of benzoyl chloride to proceed the reaction, then elimination of Cl− takes place and base abstracts proton to form N− phenylbenzamide as a final product and HCl found to be a by-product of the reaction.
