Question

Write differences between low and high density polymers.

Open in App
Solution

Low Density Polyethylene:
It is a thermoplastic polymer made from monomer of ethene, manufactured under high pressure and temperature.
LDP has more branching thereby having weak intermolecular forces and hence have low tensile strength.
High Density Polyethylene:
It is a thermoplastic polymer made of monomer ethylene. It is having high-strength to density ratio. It has strong intermolecular force than LDP and hence have high tensile strength.
