2x3-x2+4

Open in App
Solution

Finding the degree of polynomial x .

The highest power of the variable in a polynomial of one variable is called the degree of the polynomial

Here, the polynomial 2x3-x2+4 having three term .

So, The exponent of the first term 2x3=3

The exponent of the second term -x2=2

The third term is constant polynomial so the degree of the constant polynomial is 0. it can be written as 2x0.

The exponent of the third term 4=4x0=0

Since, the greatest exponent is 3.
Hence, the degree of the polynomial is 3.
