Write down the various exceptions in the physical properties of non-metals? [3 MARKS]

(i) Non-metals are generally bad conductors of heat and electricity. Non-metals do not conduct electric current due to the absence of free or mobile electrons. Exception: Graphite is a good conductor of electricity.
(ii) Non-metals are soft (Exception: Diamond is the hardest substance known).
(iii) Non-metals have low melting and boiling points. (Exception: carbon has a high melting point).
(iv) Generally no-metals are in a gaseous state. (Exception: Bromine found in a liquid state)
(v) Generally non-metals are non-lustrous.(Exception: Iodine have lustre)
