Following conditions are necessary for plant growth:
● Water: Entry of water into plant cells leads to turgidity which further causes extension. It also controls metabolism, a major contributor to growth.
● Oxygen: Helps in respiration, thereby utilisation of stored energy in food which helps in growth.
● Nutrients: Essential for the well-being of plants, act as cofactors for various enzymes, help in progression of various physiological processes.
