The Sahara is the largest desert in the world. It extends for 9,200,000 square kilometres, which is almost as large as China or the United States. It comprises much of North Africa and includes the countries of Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Libya, Mali,Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Sudan, and Tunisia.
