  1. Independent Judiciary: Judiciary delivers its decisions without greed, biasedness, pressure or influence and in accordance with law of the land. The independent judiciary always takes its decisions impartially either concerning disputes between citizens or between the center and states. The Supreme Court, State High Courts and lower courts deliver independent and impartial decisions.
  2. Parliamentary System: All members of the Parliament are elected representatives of the people.The Parliament of India comprises two houses- Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. They form the legislative branch of the government, responsible for making laws for the country. The President is the head of the parliament. Another branch of the government is called the executive which is responsible for implementing those laws. Prime Minister, along with his council of ministers or the cabinet is part of the executive branch.
  3. Adult Franchise: The Preamble of Indian Constitution establishes the supremacy of the people.Every adult who has attained the age of 18 yrs has the right to vote in elections.
  4. Fundamental Rights: Fundamental rights are essential rights given to every citizen of India by the Constitution.
