Open in App
Solution

Solutions of an equation:

The solutions of the equations are the values that satisfy the given equation.

To find the four solutions, substitute any value of x and then find corresponding values of y.

Given equation is, x=4y

Substitute x=0,

0=4y⇒y=04⇒y=0

Substitute x=4,

4=4y⇒y=44⇒y=1

Substitute x=16,

16=4y⇒y=164⇒y=4

Substitute x=-4,

-4=4y⇒y=4-4⇒y=-1

Hence, the four solutions are (0,0),(4,1),(16,4)and(-4,-1).
