(a) In the male reproductive system, two testes are present. These are oval-shaped structure. Testes are contained in the sac of skin called the scrotum. The main function of testes is producing and storing sperm until they are mature enough for ejaculation. Testes also produce the testosterone hormone. It is a sex hormone, that regulates fertility in the male. Testosterone hormone also performs other function like body mass, muscle size and strength.
(b) The ovary is the female gonads. They lie on either side of uterus against the pelvic wall in a region called ovarian fossa. The primary function of the ovary to shelter the eggs in the female until a female reach at the puberty age (12- 15). Ovary also produces the estrogen and progesterone hormone. Ovary also performs the ovulation process, which prepares the female body for pregnancy.
