Solution

(1) If a is the base and b is the index, then the index form will be ab. Thus, the base 6 and the index 4 can be written as 64.

(2) If a is raised to the power b, then the index form will be ab. Thus, 2 raised to the power 4 can be written as 24.

(3) The square of a can be written in index form as a2. Thus, the square of 7 can be written as 72.

(4) Because 3 is repeated five times, the base is 3 and the index is 5. Hence, the index form is 35.

(5) Because 6 is repeated three times, the base is 6 and the index is 3. Hence, the index form is 63.

(6) The cube of a can be written in index form as a3. Thus, the cube of 9 can be written as 93.
