• There are multiple factors which lead to marginalisation. Those are political, cultural, social and economic factors.
• Marginalised sections always feel a sense of powerlessness and feel at a disadvantage.
• Marginalised sections of people are not able to assert their rights.
• Marginalised sections of people face hostility from others.
• They do not get equal access to opportunities and resources.
• Marginalisation occurs when certain people are treated as that of ‘lower social status.’
• Marginalistion can occur due to different customs that one follows, the religion that one follows is different from that of the religion followed by the majority community, different dressing style that is followed etc.
