(a) oxygen
(b) nitrogen
(c) carbon dioxide

Open in App
Solution

(a)
There is no possibility of life without oxygen since oxygen is very essential for the survival of the living organisms. Burning will also not be possible without oxygen.
(b)Nitrogen slows down burning. If there is no nitrogen, things will burn faster. Also, plants take nitrogen as nutrients for their growth. If there is no nitrogen, plants will not grow.
(c)
Plants take carbon dioxide for photosynthesis to prepare their food and they are autotrophs. If there is no carbon dioxide, no plants can survive and thus there is no existence of life on earth as every living thing depends directly or indirectly on plants for their food.
