Question

Write observation with reaction for the following: Granulated zinc reacts with dil. sulphuric acid.

Open in App
Solution

When granulated Zinc ( Zn) combines with dilute Sulphuric acid (H2SO4), displacement reaction occurs and hydrogen gas bubbles develop with zinc sulphate as the products.

This can be observed by bringing burning matchstick near the test tube. The hydrogen gas burns with a pop sound.

The following is the chemical equation for the reaction of Zinc ( Zn) with dilute Sulphuric acid (H2SO4).

Zn(s)Zinc+dil.H2SO4(l)SulphuricacidZnSO4(s)Zincsulphate+H2(g)Hydrogen
