Plastic: Plastic is a type of material that contains Carbon (C) as an important ingredient.

• Plastic is made when many carbon atoms combine together to form long chains.
• Plastic is used to make electronic gadgets, automobile parts, electrical switches, utensils, polythene etc.

Disadvantages:

1. The biggest disadvantage of plastic is that it is non-biodegradable i.e.; it does not decompose and therefore not environment friendly.
2. Prolonged use of plastic containers to store and consume food also affects human health in the long run.
