Precipitate:

The substance that gets deposited at the bottom after the reaction has occurred is called the precipitate.

An example of a reaction where precipitate is formed:

When Silver Nitrate(AgNO3) reacts with Sodium chloride(NaCl), it gives Silver chloride(AgCl) as the precipitate and Sodium nitrate(NaNO3) as a product.

AgNO3(aq)+NaCl(aq)AgCl(s)+NaNO3(aq)
