Ortho nitrophinol is morl acidic then cresol bcoz
the nitro groups is an electron -withdrawing graph the presence of this group in the ortho posn in O-nithophenol decreases the election in the O-H bond. as a result, it is easier to loss a proton.
In case of O-cresol, methony groups is an edg yhus it increases the e density in the O-H bond and hence, the proton cannot be given out easily.
