The grains like wheat, maize, oats, corn etc. are grown by farmers for their own consumption and if it is grown on large scale for selling in the market, it is called commercial grain farming.	The crops grown and animals reared are for sale in the market.
The land and capital input varies according to the purpose(commercial or self consumption) for which the crops are grown.	The area cultivated and the amount of capital used is large.Machines are used for the most of the work.
It is mostly done in temperate grasslands of North America,Europe and Asia.	It is practised all over the world, mainly in developed countries.
