Write short note on thymus gland.

Thymus gland is a type of endrocrine gland that located behind the sternum. It is also called as lymphoid organ as it involves in the maturation of T lymphocyte. It secretes hormone thymosin. Thymosin plays an important role in the maturation of T cells. It is active till puberty and after that it starts shrinking and later replaced by fat.
