• Sir Fazulbhoy Currimbhoy was the first president of the organization and Dinshaw Wacha the first chairman
• In its third session in 1926, it passed resolution to dissolve itself and create an association that had nationwide reach

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI)

• Is a business organization association
• Was established in 1927, on the advice of Mahatma Gandhi to GD Birla and Purushottam Das Thakurdas,
• It is the oldest and the largest business organization in India
• It has the private and public corporate sector as its members
• It is headquartered in New Delhi
