The middle-level management has the primary task of getting the plans implemented. They include the heads of various departments such as marketing, finance, human resources, etc.
The following are the functions of the middle level of management.
i. Middle level management acts as a link between the top middle level management and lower level management by communicating the plans designed by top level management to the lower level management.
ii. They advice the top-level managers on drafting the plans, policies and goals.
iii. They help co-ordinate the activities of the various departments.
iv. They instruct the lower levels of management on what tasks to perform and how to perform them.
v. The middle-level management performs the function of appointing workers and subordinates who can perform tasks effectively.
